1. Cancellation Of Commitment To Play

    1. cancellation more than 4 weeks before an LGW event no fine

    2. cancellation 1 to 4 weeks before the event £10 fine

    3. Cancellation 1 day before to 1 week before event £20 fine

    4. Cancellation on day of LGW event > of £20 fine or all LGW costs incurred for the cancellation No fine will be imposed if the cancelling player can help the event organiser find a replacement player and no financial loss is incurred by the Society. Cancellations for “exceptional circumstances” and withdrawing a fine imposed will be considered by the event organiser with the Captain on a case by case basis. ((As stated on the Captain’s duties any R&R dispute can be referred to the Main LGW Committee for final resolution))

  1. Late Arrival At Host Golf Club On The Day

    1. An LGW event organiser must put a clear expected arrival time on communications for an LGW event. All players are expected to arrive by this clearly stated time (unless specifically agreed in advance with the event organiser).

    2. Breach of the above = £5.00 fine

  1. Dress Code & LGW Members Tags

    1. No trainers to be worn at the host golf club – including arrival & departure.

    2. No jeans to be worn at the host golf club – including arrival & departure.

    3. No tee shirts without collar to be worn at the host golf club throughout the day. Other dress codes (re sock colour, shorts) of the host golf club must be adhered to.

    4. LGW Golf Society Members Tags must be attached to golf bags throughout the day.

    5. Breach of any of the above = £5.00 fine

  1. Mobile Phones

    1. These must not be used on the golf course itself during play (this is regardless of whether the host golf club accepts this or not).

    2. Mobile phone usage rules of the host golf club in other places e.g. clubhouse, car parks must be adhered to.

    3. Breach of the above = £5.00 fine

  2. “Dick-Outs”

    1. A player committing one of these will have a straight choice – play the rest of the hole with his “dick-out” (traditional penalty) or pay a £2.00 fine

  1. Scorecards

    1. All markers are expected to fill in a scorecard with the gross score for each hole for a player as a bare minimum.

    2. At the end of the round all scorecards should be signed by both the marker and player (ideally fully completed with the final points/score clearly highlighted) (( It is recognised that filling in a golf scorecard is beyond the capabilities of some players))

    3. All scorecards must be handed to the nominated event scorer (usually someone from the first playing group) within 10 minutes of completion of the round.

    4. Breach of any of the above = £5.00 fine
